Mission

At Infant Jesus College of Engineering, our library serves as the cornerstone of academic excellence on campus. With a collection of over 28,610 books, 82 national journals, and 68 international journals, alongside access to more than 250 online journals, our library provides comprehensive resources across various engineering disciplines. Each year, we add the latest standard publications to ensure our collection remains current and relevant.

Library Information

1. Digital Resources: The library boasts a digital library with over 1000 interactive CDs and 10 learner terminals, enhancing access to digital learning materials.

2. Operating Hours: Open from 8:30 A.M. to 6:30 P.M. on all working days, ensuring ample time for students and faculty to utilize its resources.

3. Technological Integration: Our library is fully computerized with bar-coded books and the latest library automation software, facilitating efficient borrowing and management of resources.

4. Physical Infrastructure: The central library spans 10,000 sq. ft., featuring a computerized book lending desk, documentation area, and a designated reading space.

5. Periodicals and Journals: Subscribes to 30 periodicals, 91 national journals, and 68 international journals in both print and online formats. Additionally, it houses 300 bound volumes of previous journal issues.

6. Special Services: Includes reprography services, IEEE student branch library, lending services, reference services, inter-library loans, and internet browsing facilities.

7. Digital Knowledge Centre: Established to facilitate access to e-journals, e-learning materials, and other digital library collections, supporting advanced learning and research endeavors.

The library at Infant Jesus College of Engineering stands as a vibrant hub of intellectual activity, providing invaluable resources and services to foster academic and professional growth among our students and faculty.

Library Committee

Functions:

To guide the librarian in formulating general library policies and regulations which govern its functions.

To provide proper documentation service and to update the library collections.

To prepare budget and proposals for the development of the library.

To allocate funds to different departments for the purchase of books. (The librarian is directed to collect the list of books and journals required by each department through the HODs during the beginning of each semester and submit it for the approval of the advisory committee. For any immediate requirement of the books and journals in any department, the committee authorized the librarian to do the same with the sanction of the HODs and Principal.)

To work towards modernization and improvement of the library and documentation services.

To formulate policies and procedures for efficient use of library resources

To recommend the authorities about the fees and other charges for the use of the library.

To add, amend, or delete any rules prescribed for the readers use of the library services.

To seek feedback on library functions from readers for each semester.
